To maintain the safety of our students we have fully replaced our perimiter fencing to provide a secure space across the school for play and learning.
We are very excited to share with our community our new Foundation Learning Centre (FLC). With a contemporary approach to learning, students move throughout flexible spaces which provide play-inspired literacy and numeracy experiences, social and emotional learning centres, and personalised plans or projects.
Our FLC has secure inside and outside spaces so students can move freely in their own learning environment, with access to the larger school playground when they choose. Our learners learn to work collaboratively from the beginning of the year, supporting them to build friendships and interact with their entire year level.
Preparations are well under way, locking in our contractors to begin work on our library at the end of term 2. We need a new library space…
Mural to be designed by Jo Draisma
We are excited to announce that Jo Draisma, our resident artist and teacher of our collaborative art program has agreed to paint a mural on the wall of the library. Our theme the ‘Australian landscape’ captures our current work in sustainability and caring for our country.
Nathan White, who currently teaches humanities and literature in the library has developed the teaching space as the frog pond, another connection to the Australian theme.
See a mock up of the proposed mural compared with the existing space.
